CSI Chapter:

Our objective is to build a strong community, so we’d encourage feedback on what you’d like to see from your local chapter, including events, training sessions, hands on with new equipment, engagement with other societies and more. We’re looking to build a detailed list of colourists from every state and territory, so please check your CSI member settings to make sure you’ve listed a business address otherwise the search filters will not work. With the updated details we’ll have a great community we can keep in touch with, and producers and production companies will be able to find local colourists too. Thanks for being with us. We’re looking forward to building this community together.

Eric Whipp was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and raised in Australia.  He became a colorist in the 1990s and helped George Miller with his Oscar-winning film, "Happy Feet."  Today he is a Co-Founder and Senior Colorist at Alter Ego in Toronto, Canada. He reunited with George Miller for the ground-breaking film "Mad Max: Fury Road."  He most recently finished "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part."

Abe Wynen is Senior Colourist at Redlab, Toronto. Prior to joining the company in 2022, he spent six years at boutique colour and finishing studio Crayon in Melbourne, Australia. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with notable brands including Puma, Mini, and Beats by Dre. His work has also been screened at prominent international festivals, including the Tribeca Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival, and has been celebrated for its unique style and finesse.

Canada Chapter Catch Up

Abe Wynen and Eric Whipp hosted a Colourist Catch-Up as a precursor to the formal launch of the Canada Chapter. Held at Danu Social House, it brought together Toronto’s top colorists and other industry professionals for an evening of socializing.
