CSI Fellow Charles Poynton Interview

Charles Poynton, PhD is legendary color scientist, video engineer and CSI Fellow. He is the author of two influential books on the science of color in digital video, and frequently speaks and teaches on the subject. In the 1980s, he designed and built innovative digital video processing systems for NASA’s Johnson Space Center. He also helped to develop standards used in digital cinema, cameras and displays. Meet CSI ANZ

CSI’s Australia-New Zealand Chapter now has its own page on our website. The page is designed to provide chapter members with easy access to information about local activities, network with other members, learn about employment opportunities and promote their work.

One of CSI’s most active Chapters, ANZ boasts two dozen members across the two countries. Chapter officers include Warren Eagles, CSI (Brisbane), Jarryd Hall, CSI (Sydney), Deidre "Dee" McCelland, CSI (Melbourne) and Dave Gibson, CSI (New Zealand). They view the page as a tool to develop community spirit among their geographically-diverse members. They also see it as an opportunity to showcase the great work members are doing across features, television, advertising and other media. CSI’s Australia-New Zealand Chapter now has its own page on our website.

CSI plans to add pages for other Chapters around the globe. For information on how to launch a CSI Chapter and develop a page for your community, please write to info@coloristsociety.com
